International Retreats

Yoga Instructor teaches a class on a floating yoga deck in Sri Lanna National Park, Thailand. Students are on their stomaches doing a backbend called locust pose

I have been leading international retreats to Asia, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe since 2011. On retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your yoga practice, as we have daily classes and often workshop specific poses. Classes are suitable for all levels of movement ability and are designed to meet you where you are.

There are also pre-arranged sightseeing trips and adventure tours, so that you can participate in culturally responsible tourism. Highlights from past retreats include:

  • seeing leatherback baby turtles hatching in Costa Rica

  • learning Buddhist insights from a chief abbot in Bhutan

  • climbing Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu in Peru

  • eating pastel de nata and seeing fado in Portugal

  • swimming at Blue Hole Waterfall in Jamaica

  • going on safari to see rhinos at Chitwan National Park in Nepal

  • visiting Alhambra Palace and in southern Spain

  • sending lanterns in the sky for Loi Kratong in Thailand

A diverse group of smiling adult yoga students strike fun and goofy poses in front of a yoga shala in Panama.

The folks who participate often attend future retreats, so it fosters a wonderful sense of continual community. At the same time, new retreat participants can expect a sense of welcoming openness that I am grateful to hold space for.

I feel like the participants are a microcosm of true diversity: all different ages, genders, ethnicities, religions, body types, levels of yoga experience… but what is common is shared values of inner healing and growth, building strong relationships, bonding over laughter, and respecting other cultures.

Come join us as explore the world, while making meaningful connections both to ourselves and others!
