Somatic Coaching
Somatic practices help us get in touch with our body’s feelings, moods, meaning-making and perceptions. The body speaks in the language of sensation, but often we are so disconnected from our bodies that we don’t hear their messages. We tend to live in our heads and use our minds to control or override what the body is trying to tell us. In order to truly heal, we must be able to be with the body — especially with discomfort — to tend to the constrictions, suppressed emotions, and sensations that we all have.
Somatic practice allows an embodied connection with ourselves that traditional talk therapy might not be able to achieve. When we get out of our minds and connect deeply with the body, we can learn ways to access safety as well as uncover the healing wisdom our bodies already have.
Working with a somatic coach can be helpful to facilitate this journey of self-awareness and acceptance. In my sessions, we blend a combination of somatic practices, breathing techniques, and inner child exercises to help you:
break free from limiting patterns
learn ways to widen your capacity to manage stress, tension, and anxiety
release shame and grow self-compassion
cultivate nervous system flow
